Marla is the owner and President of Markey Consulting. A bilingual certified Economic Developer, she has over 20 years of experience in community, economic and business development and has worked closely with public and private sector stakeholders on a variety of initiatives. Well versed in the issues facing northern Ontario, Marla has been directly involved in developing and implementing strategies and solutions to help grow and strengthen businesses and communities in the north.

Heather Johnston
Business Development Manager
Heather is the Business Development Manager of Markey Consulting. A motivated, public relations and creative marketing specialist with over 13 years of experience contributing to domestic and international business growth.
With strong leadership skills, she has established marketing departments, coached staff, enhanced client relationships, and worked closely with internal and external teams to achieve major corporate goals.
She has worked with global mining suppliers providing specialized industrial marketing services including development to after-sales support. Her experience also includes implementing global distributorship programs and project management including budgets, schedules, and reports.
Heather has coordinated company participation in numerous domestic and international trade shows including pre-show planning, representation at events, and post-show follow-ups.
